Colour, feeling and everyday rooms.
Original paintings and archival prints made slowly in a limestone studio a few streets from the water.
In her own words

Behind the paintings
Made by hand, a few streets from the water
Mafduarte Studio is a Malta-based artist creating expressive work that celebrates colour, imagination and personal connection. Each piece develops through an intuitive process of layering, mark-making and experimentation.
She works mostly in oil and soft pastel, often on linen, and almost always with the shutters open.

How the work is made
Every painting begins in a sketchbook and ends somewhere else entirely. Colour is mixed by hand in small batches, layers are buried and recovered, and prints are proofed on cotton rag until the tone sits exactly where the original does.

Collection story
Salt & Citrus
Salt & Citrus began with a summer of walking the same route between the studio and the water. The collection follows that walk: the glare off the creek, bougainvillea against pale stone, and the terrace at the end of the day when everything softens.
“Malta gives you two colours before anything else — limestone and sea. Everything in this collection sits between them.”Discover the story
